Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 25, 2026 · Last updated: April 11, 2026
1. Who we are
Extraktr is a product of Detektr LLC, a company incorporated in Delaware, USA. When this policy refers to “Extraktr,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” it refers to Detektr LLC.
2. What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver and improve the service:
- Account information — name and email address provided through Google OAuth when you sign in.
- Conversation content — text you submit for extraction. See Section 3 for how this is handled.
- Usage data — extraction counts, timestamps, and feature usage for service delivery and abuse prevention.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically via server logs.
3. How we process conversation data
Conversation content is sent to our extraction engine, processed, and returned as structured output. We apply the following principles:
- Ephemeral processing — for unauthenticated (free-tier) usage, raw conversation content is not persisted after extraction completes.
- Authenticated users — extraction history and shared reports are retained in association with your account so you can access them later. You may delete this data at any time from your account.
- No model training — we do not use your conversation content to train, fine-tune, or improve machine learning models. Processing is for your results only.
- Chrome extension — on supported sites (Slack, Gmail, Discord), the extension reads conversation text from the page only when you explicitly run extraction, then sends it to the same Extraktr API as the website. Session cookies on Extraktr domains may be used to authenticate those requests when you are signed in.
4. Third-party services
We use a limited set of third-party services to operate Extraktr:
- Google OAuth — for authentication. Google receives your sign-in request but does not receive your conversation content.
- OpenAI API — for natural language processing when you use Extraktr-managed processing (the default). Content is sent to OpenAI’s API under their data usage policies, which prohibit use of API inputs for model training. This step does not apply when you have enabled optional local processing as described in Section 3.
- Hosting provider — our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud platforms with encryption at rest and in transit.
5. Data retention
- Unauthenticated extractions are not stored beyond the duration of the request.
- Authenticated user data (history, shared reports) is retained until you delete it or close your account.
- Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.
6. Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, access controls on internal systems, and regular security reviews. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using commercially reasonable measures.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Export your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
9. Children’s privacy
Extraktr is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or via email to registered users. Continued use of Extraktr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
